Our founder moved to the Northern Virginia / Washington DC area with a strong desire to work on climate change policy shortly after completing an environmental law program while recovering from surgery on both knees and his spine due to being worn down from his contributions to the Hurricane Harvey Recovery in South Texas.
After sustaining another spinal injury in early 2025 while aiding a co-worker who was in danger, he lost his job and his home. After living in his Buick with his German Shepherd for nearly 4 months and seeing first-hand the widespread difficulties experienced in the community, he decided that he could no longer witness the suffering of his community and fellow man without doing what he could to create opportunities for all those in need.
The Anthony J Ross Charitable Foundation was registered in the State of Virginia the day before Thanksgiving 2025.
Since 2011, Anthony J Ross has provided pro-bono advocacy, capacity building, strategic business plan guidance, in-kind donation procurement, capital campaign advising and direct fundraising assistance to 49 non-profit organizations and charities and has played a major role in the procurement of beyond $16 million for community development projects.
Our founder is a true Renaissance Man and has supported a great breadth of causes including but not limited to, women and children, the homeless, underserved populations, historic preservation, visual and performing arts, veterans and active-duty military, natural resource conservation, disability rights, health care, hunger prevention, science and technology, STEM education, Native American sustainability, urban beautification, small businesses, faith-based organizations, sports, and healthy active lifestyles.
